Most Seiko limited editions are sold worldwide, or at least across a region. SRPL17K was announced from the start as 1,500 pieces sold only in Thailand. Collectors in other countries can only get one second-hand.

The theme is the Siamese fighting fish (betta), honoured as Thailand’s national aquatic animal — Seiko set out to capture both its colours and its fighting spirit.

Every colour has a reason

• A gradient blue dial inspired by the iridescent scales of the betta.
• A blue-and-red rotating bezel, the two colours people associate with the fish.
• The cushion-shaped Turtle case descended from Seiko’s 1970s dive watches: comfortable, tough and bold on the wrist.

Price and where to buy

The Thai list price is ฿22,800; Thai dealers sell it new at around ฿19,500. With so few made and one country of sale, once dealer stock is gone only pre-owned pieces remain. When buying pre-owned, check that the case-back serial, box and warranty card match.
