TOM’S and the car that made its name overnight

TOM’S is a Japanese Toyota racing team and tuner. For its 50th anniversary, CASIO EDIFICE — Casio’s motorsport watch line — made a special edition in memory of the TOM’S KP47 Starlet, the car that made the team famous in the 1970s.

A race car, translated into a watch

• Honeycomb dial — from the Starlet’s front grille; the purple comes from the engine cover
• Sub-dials — from the TOM’S Igeta wheels
• White, red and green — the KP47’s body colours, used across the dial and strap
• Genuine leather strap — shaped after the car’s B-pillar; the metal keeper is styled like a side mirror, with the original TOM’S logo
• Number 36 — the TOM’S ace car number, printed on the crystal at the 36-minute mark

The box is white, red and green like the car and carries both the current and the original TOM’S logos. If you buy pre-owned, the box is part of the value.
